1 week down, 11 to go! :)
“You win the training, you win the fight, you win the training, you win the fight”…..Alain’s famous words seem to be engraved in my head since the first brutal session at Impakt. I’m starting to think burpees aren’t really that bad…….Am I going insane??!! It gradually got much easier as Wednesday and Friday came along and we, as a squad, managed to survive the first week. I thought Friday was great fun as we were finally putting on our hand wraps and gloves and learning the techniques of jabs, crosses, upper cuts and hooks. One week down, eleven to go. Will it get easier from now on?! I highly doubt it……BUT BRING IT ON!!!!
I am having to carefully consider readjusting my training schedule as I seem to be “doing too much” so much so that a three hour massage on sunday was hardly enough to untie all my knots!! At least dragon boating will be over this saturday so I’ll be out of the water until next season.
Training schedule from now on will probably look like this:-
Monday Morning:-Pump; Monday Evening: – Impakt
Tuesday Morning: – Spin; Tuesday Evening:- Rest
Wednesday Morning:- PT session; Wednesday Evening:- Impakt
Thursday Morning:- Boxing / Conditioning; Thursday Evening:- Boxing
Friday Morning:- PT session; Friday Evening:- Impakt
Saturday:- Run / Swim
Sunday:- Run / Swim
Need to fit in a couple of yoga / body balance / pilates sessions in there as well to stretch out those tight muscles and of course, despite having to work long hours, need to try and fit in at least 7 hours of sleep a day. Its all about training mean, eating clean and rest / recovery.
So far, so good…….lets see what Impakt has installed for us this 2nd week!
